21?

I've just been chatting with a friend who showed me a Russian site where my photos/looks were used and she tried to help me read the comments. Old photos that made me make a face!=) Looks i enjoyed but like many others, i've moved on.=)
Lovely comments and some pretty weird ones!=) The debate about my age for example which really cracked me up. First person who used my photos said i was 21. So they got stuck with that!=) I was not 21 in the photos and i'm not 22 now.=) I was 21 a long time ago, well, 6 years ago?=)Me being thought to be 21 is going to make everyone in my family laugh as people think i'm actually 10 yrs older than my age. The youngest i'm thought to be is 26. Youngest! Thanks to my love for vintage and my battle against looking cute!=) So yes, i was 21. =) And some of the people there were like.."No!" She's not!" And I'm like, "Yeah! She's not!!!!" =) Made my day, that comment.=)And my location/nationality. They said "She's in Baku. That's Baku" And another one goes "She's not from Baku. She's definitely not Azeri." Then one girl said "No, she came as tourist!" And another one said "No, on a contract!" And then another one said "Her husband is from there!" And another person asked "Her husband is Azeri?" And one answered "No. British" And i was laughing!! About 10 people conversing about me, giving details about me, some perhaps knew something from Chictopia and my blog as i cant stop writing sometimes. But some i think are just guessing which is hilarious!=) But not until one person actually wrote: "I saw her the other day with her husband! OMG!" That freaked me out!!!=)
I'm no celebrity. My only real life fans are my family, friends and waiters in cafes who saw all my weird outfits. That's it! For me, my blog was born in Baku, residing in Baku but never in Baku. It can be seen anywhere else but Baku as it takes me a day to explain to people what blogging is! If anyone recognized me in the streets, it'd be because of my job or Diddy. Not because of my turban in my photos. So to be recognized in the street as Aphrodite, it's a little weird for me. Nice but weird.
I'm always being watched. First, i'm foreign. People cant decide which part of the earth i am from. Japan, China, Thailand, India, Mexico or some arab/muslim country. But the most popular, Africa. I'm done trying to explain that i am not half African half something. =) Second: I'm always wearing something alien to them. Third: I have dogs! Dogs attract attention! So looking like any nationality in the world, wearing an out of this world outfit and having two cute little dogs, you have that power to stop conversations, cause that 10 seconds silence, part crowds and get all the kinds of stares possible, weather you like it or not. That's not new to me, it is expected and is part of my daily life. It'd sound vain if i said i don't like it, but i honestly don't. But it's that or blend in. I have no idea how to do that! But i expect that once that 10 seconds is done, I'm forgotten. (Never mind the girl from Iran who took a video of me while we were having tea next to them! To show to her family back home perhaps? An up close image (in motion!) of someone from the moon!). That's what i always have in mind when i dress up. People will stare but they'll forget it after i've gone out of their sight. "Just a strange looking ghost. So where were we?" Something like that.=) So reading that comment, it made me wonder. Where? Which cafe? Which street? How can anyone recognize me? No, it cant be me. It's a small city but we're still talking millions. If it was Liz (Late afternoon), and I am Aphrodite, of course i'd recognize her. But I'm not Liz and is it possible that somebody is as "Fashion blog aware" as me in the city? No... Sometimes there are groups of girls whispering and pointing at me but i always think it's because of my job. Or because of my sisters who, sad to say, look a bit like me. Now I'm not sure.
But still, i have my wigs now, that should confuse 'em!!=)

AMBROSIA

A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.

We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Heaven has accorded this to us in the uncritical canine attachment.

Ambrosia. Food of the gods (with the small g!) And so this blog will be about some more the things that i love or should i say more of Aphrodite's bull*hit!=) Extension of the LAIR, the dumping ground.=)

My life had been a mess in the past year that i forgot this page. It was my insomnia page. So let's start again.=) Hoping that my new schedule works out and helps me.=) I don't have a full time job but the LAIR/Chictopia, 2 bands, 2 dogs, and the other million things i want to do and a routine that's all over the place, it's just chaos. I have a dozen DIYs waiting, loads of clothes to be altered, gig clothes to design, a novel i'm supposed to write in whatever language i can if i know one good enough, sketched outfits to wear/SS11 project to do, parents' holiday to organise, and i could go on all day. In my mind I am very busy.=)
So I am hoping to write posts here during the day, afternoon--in theory! Not at dawn because that means my schedule is fuc*ed up again.=)

And those are my babies. (Above pics). The two hairy things that keep me sane.=)
